well.....lets do a little recap of the last few days
sat: rode the slc century...started the day with evan, amanda and some of their pals out near the fairgrounds. within the first 20 linked onto brett, mark, aaron, chad, ben and a bunch of their tri-geek pals...they were moving and the pace was good when it was a steady pace, which was not all that consistent...so i dropped off them as i was a bit concerned for my and their safety.. at the last rest stop i ran into doug, he saw me and came up and chatted. was nice to see him and he looked like he was doing well. had a nice afternoon in the park.
sun: what did do on sunday....worked on the house a bit finishing up some odds and ends that have been waiting for some so~so weather to get finished up....finished caulking the chimney, finished caulking the front porch...can't think of what else but i'm sure there was more..oh yes went to ikea, hung some curtain rods, steamed some carpets..watched a movie "the switch" was good some funny stuff, kinda a chick flick but that's ok.
mon: helped my mommy move stuff out of grandma's house to mine...she's got a lot of stuff....and it looks like i'm storing it... worked on stuff around the house... started breaking up cement from the back patio and loading it into the garbage can, mowed the lawn, weeded a little hung out with my dogger. here's a couple pics of the pack patio that's being demoed:
yes that is pasan's bike sitting there on the planter box, cut the 4x4 and pulled it down, i'm sure he'll be a little shocked when he gets home and it isn't where he left it.. ;)
and a shot with the path that i put in, i just widened it by another row...and the plan is to run this pattern all the way to the new cement that will go around the bomb shelter.
tue(today): loaded more cement into the trash along with the bottom cement pieces of 2 of the grape vine lattice supports....and yes i hid from the garbage man just in case his truck wasn't able to lift all the trash cans up and dump them in his truck think it was mine plus 4 or so more....and i'm not even half done with what i'm tearing up..yay.. went and looked at some awing to replace the pieces i damaged over the carport..looks like it's gonna cost less than i was originally told to make it look good again. broke up more cement, 1/2 of the large area is done, but still have a good majority to load into trash cans...will prob do that thurs as the trash man comes on the other side of the street.haha.. decided to go and race and try to clear my head, worked well... met at the usual meeting place, the group that rode out was a bit on the small side...we raced in the oval, there were times i felt like i was struggling to hold on but made the entire race with the main group and even attacked a couple times and helped pull things back.. rode home with rob ray, nice guy, he mentioned that he and his wife are trying to sell their house to move to texas....a shame as i enjoy racing with him...but it's what they want to do.. as for the rest of the evening and the shocking news i can't share that just yet...sorry for the let down but sometimes that's how it goes.
wed: well i plan on loading some cement into my trash can and some into the wheel barrow to be ready for thursday morning.. also will be studying a very large portion of the day....have some other stuff on the hopper but don't know what will shake out..
this is the south front of the house. already made the change to get rid of all those ugly pink blocks and put in new rectangle ones on the north side of the yard...check the pic below
such a big difference...looks a bunch better. also painted the intake cover for the wood burning stove that's on the chimney, looks so much better...
holy crapola look at the time......how on earth am i up so stinkin late...oh yeah the news....time to shower and crawl into bed....maybe with some tiger balm..
