zhe anger

yesterday's race put me back in the fray of wheeler farm....having missed the last wheeler race due to some weird ass hip flexor irritation i was amped.....and my friday training ride felt super good. got there early and carted all my crap over to the team van, trailer, tent..... pre rode the course, was LONG, but fun. could tell it was going to be a hard race, but that's why we do it. got in a good warm up, but wasn't feeling all that fab. did the quick wardrobe change and headed for the start line. i didn't get a great start, but after last weeks plan (fall through that is) i wasn't really looking to kill myself right out of the shoot. the first lap was still fast....was in a nice little group working with mike y and come other cats. through one of the twisty sections some asshole tried to push, elbow, shoulder me into a tree....had to make a quick adjustment, duck a rope off the course then duck another to get back on course.. and you'll never guess who that asshole was, you got it the ghb....and did i mention that he was like grumbling or something while this was all happening, fucker.

ok enough bitching. after the tree event i was wired, and dropped the hammer ended up working with devan alvarez (sp?), such a nice guy....we rode together for about 3 laps then he hammered it out with some 45+ guys that caught us and i was by myself..oh well. had a nice little sit down just before the run up on lap 2, that move f'd a couple people behind me, i think i was too busy watching claw (in front of me) and just bobbled the whole dam thing... the singletrack tree section was awesome, so fast and so sticky....i was hauling ass every lap through there and smiling the whole time. overall the course was fun, but i don't think it suited me, i seem to like the more technical, and places where i can put some time in like log hops.

the cheering crew (forgive me if i miss you, remember i usually can't remember my own name during a race, and yesterday's race put me in the hurt locker....): USU cycling crew, george k, macci, lacy, milner, leah, miller, shantel, fox, bruce, devan (while racing)....yeah memory's getting bad at this point...
