it was a beautiful saturday morning, a chill

in the air, fresh snow on the ground, and time for the last cross race of the season...... it was bitter cold as i was loading up the bike and gear. on the drive to wheeler farm, the sun looked like it was going to make an attempt to come out from hiding.. think i was the first rider on the course as they did some time changes so we raced first. at first lap the course was difficult, cutting fresh tracks through set up 6" deep snow.
i considered strpping my bike down and

putting on running shoes, but in the end glad i didn't. got a short warm up in the parking lot as the team van and trailer didn't make the voyage. on the start line, there was a handful of cats... started out a little wobbly, first turn was a power slide as we all went into it hot, think there was a big wreck behind me... the gent from spin and i were away, and i was all over the place.
i settled in and got down to business. caught

and dropped spin guy, then some proc(35+) passed me, oh well wasn't racing him. so i was sitting with a nice lead in 1st coming into the last lap some fatty came by me smokin, i think he startled me and i may have dropped an f-bomb, sorry... i got a little OC and he had some distance on me... didn't really try all that hard to catch him as i thought he wasn't one of my oponents..... after i crossed the finish line, found out he was in fact a B, shit...oh well i'll take 2nd, best placement of the season and in crazy conditions...i'm happy...and was happy the rest of the day as a result.
i jumped in with the race following mine,

just to open it up for the first 500yards, was super fun being off the front, skidding into the crowd and having to wait to see the other racers come by..hahahahah, i'm a jerk...
To finish things up for the day, cross party/awards party/trailer park

party.....it was fun, good friends and cold beer made it even better....could have done without the trailer park taladega nights theme though.
