eventful sunday

got up, got ready and went on a ride to find legacy highway bike path with jason. we found it, after we rode past it...haha turned around and rode it south only to find it wasn't completed so it ended quickly, turned around rode a dirt road toward a maverick in north salt lake then headed home on streets i've never rode before...nice mellow ride. the wind coming out of the south was harsh, but ridable.

got home ate a piece of wedding cake from yesterday, got changed and worked on jason's bike. his der hanger was a little bent and his chain was warn well past 1.5....hope it doesn't skip and jump on him.. also installed some tires for my neighbor. while i was working on jason's bike he took a look at the lawnmower and thought he was a smarty, turned the fuel valve and expected it to start, nice try...hahahaha i'm a little smarter than that..not by much but... erin came and picked him up.

i went to town on trying to get the mower to start up, tried some carb cleaner, got it to start but wouldn't stay, so that tells me it's the carb, and that it's prob gunked up....i pulled it apart cleaned it a bit and tried again...no luck, i was a little frustrated so i turned my attention to other things. time to get plants in the ground....nice and relaxing. started with the sandwort on the north side of the house. pulled the rest of the weeds to the west of the side door and put 4 sandworts in the ground. sandwort is a nice little plant that is very, very thick...can't wait for it to fill the area in, i think i will look fantastic. next was around the tree in the park strip. i weeded, dug out the seedum (put it around the rose bush in the next strip over) and the chicks and hens (plan to put it next to the car port, maybe tomorrow). i planted 6 sweet woodruffs..., now yes i know sweet woodruff is an herb but it is also a good ground cover that likes shady areas and sends out runners. i was also told it will take over, this is great since the people in the rental next door don't give a rats ass about the yard....and i don't really care all that much for grass so grow baby grow.. next: onto the boxwood's on the west side of the house..put 4 in the ground and they will be mature at 5x5 in about 7 years.....they look nice. i also pulled out some huge nail that was deep into the ground by the gate, odd...didn't really pull i out, more like broke it off... somewhere in the middle of this i took a break and went on a mission to find a gallon can of carb/parts cleaner... 1st stop at pep boys and they told me that's been discontinued...whatever. next stop checker and imagine they had it...so i got it put the carb in it and let is soak for 2+hrs....while i finished planting.. got back to the carb, reassembled it, installed it, started the mower 1st try......YES!!! my neighbor was outside and even she was excited..hahahha so i mowed the lawn with, yes, a gas mower. took me less than 5 min. i also cut it quite short, maybe too short.....but hey that just means it will be a little more time before i have to do it again right... put some weed and feed on the lawn and called it a night...geeze did a lot today, feel really good about it...got cleaned up, fed the kids, went to sleep, was like 9pm...must be getting old...
