sat, harvest moon and The Killers

it's a beautiful saturday morning, the sun is out, the sky is clear perfect temps for racing.... after some last min confusion of jason trying to sell his tt bike, and forgetting his helmet we made our way to o-town for the harvest moon crit. the course was so~so...as in some sections were tight, some were wide, and you could hold speed through every corner as long as you went around the outside. there was some action early on involving me and a couple others but all that went was chased down...until some rmcc joker went, and don't get me wrong he didn't go that hard but the field just let him go........i tried to rally the field to work and chase him down but that just wasn't happening...everyone but brad and myself seemed content leaving him out there for the win...and the suckie part is that he was gaining distance on us....wtf....people pull your shit together and go... so he took the 1st prime, the 2nd prime was a junk show on my part..it was a pack prime, when i started my sprint i pulled my left foot out of the pedal, then proceeded to kick my front wheel...i was all over the road, good thing it was a wide section... i pulled to back together, although a little shaken up and tried to get back into a sprint again... if i had my head on straight i would have attacked as soon as the pack slowed from the prime...bet i could have gotten away and prob caught the guy off the front...oh well wasn't thinking straight.. so the pack slowed after the prime, which sucked since the guy off the front was loosing ground as the group picked up the pace....but it was short lived, once again everyone was content leaving him out there for the win....stupid... brad and i continued to work...i even came through the start/finish on the front sitting up with my hands off the bar and out in the air like come on get your arsses up here and do some work, we can pull this back....but no...one of the officials, tj fkhead's dad even yelled at me: "don't race alx, don't race" i was pissed about that, just like his kid: "inside, middle, ............" anyway i tried to conserve for the end... i pulled off with 2 to go and sat in to see what happened.. a couple guys actually came to the front and started working hard, amazing....where the hell were you all freakin race? jason was stirring the poo saying to the guys in front of him to keep the pace high, you got it keep it going...i was trying not to laugh while sitting on his wheel.. through the last straight and corner is where all hell broke loose...there was a little bumping going on, but mainly golds gym dorkwad out of the saddle and all over the place.. here's how it ended up: rmcc 1, golds 2, jason 3...who knows from there. think i was 7th... rode the course a couple times to cool down...grabbed wheels and bag and headed for the car.. jason ate it trying to get off his bike at a cross walk, ouch.. made it back to the car put some stuff inside then went on a nice little cool down....came back and rode through the farmers market/street festival that was going on, beats the pants off our farmers market..they had bands playing, vendors serving beer, climbing walls...all sorts of fun stuff..

only race pic i could find, that's brad in front, me behind, jason a couple back:
as for the rest of the day i can't really recollect what i did...which means i prob wasn't much.... but the killers concert was awesome.....lac, em, coop, andy, ton, prego, prego's sis & boy toy and myself went to the porc for dinner...then off to the concert.. we ran into joe & his wife, they're nice.. then down to the 10th row front section for the show..

gotta continue this later.. have some pics to post of the show, and more to write......be patient...

and the continuation:
the concert started off on a bit of a strange note, there was this mariachi band that had a bit of attitude. they were good and interesting to listen to but i lost all respect for them when the singer said something along the lines of: this isn't f-n easy being up here so respect it..oh well, no one was really there to see them anyway.
the concert started off with a little bit of a twist....the killers part that is... the band came out on stage, got started with their first song, then brandon frashier got on the microphone and said: "we have to get off the stage there's an emergency" so they left the stage, the lights came on and some of their crew was going up and down rope ladders...never said what happened, but after 30min or so the killers were back on stage in nothing less than classy style.
they put on one of the most fantastic performances i have ever seen. they were classy, they were not vulgar.....they were great all the way around. i'm really happy i was able to attend, thank you lacy for taking me, i had a blast. they played most all of the songs on their new "day and age" album and a bunch from older albums...they also did a cover and some song mixing, it was really fantastic.
this was cooper's first concert, and what a great concert to remember as your first. mine was violent femmes at the u of u ballroom, it was great. andy and emily take such good care of their kids. coop enjoyed himself, and was happy having earplugs in the whole time, glad to see that, and i was right there in suit.
