first ride on my sweet new tarmac
sl2... what a light bike... so i decided to head out one of my favorite routes, emigration canyon...followed by big
mtn (east canyon). the plan was to do intervals, well i did what i could while climbing to the top of little
mtn... they hurt and i don't think i made it into zone once...crap... from there on i continued to the top of big
mtn.. was kind of strange as the
sl2 felt strange....i couldn't put my finger on it and just chalked it up to new bike, feels different, diff parts, diff wheels....whatever.. got to the top drank some water and headed on down... at the top of little
mtn ran into barb, she was turning around and heading down so she jumped on my wheel.. she was gone before the first switchback just before i threaded the needle between 2 motorcycles that couldn't seem to figure it out.. i wasn't sad about leaving her behind as
i'm not thrilled with her or her husband right now (don't ask, it's just not something that's done and that's all
i'm gonna say). i kept the pace high as i didn't want her to catch back on...so high that i passed 3-4 other riders on my way down...and none of them could hang...
swung by
jason &
erin's to say hi....they both like the new rig and
jason pointed out that the stem had some rise to it...
uhhhh, figured why it felt a little off....nice...oh well, easy fix..
then home, made stem right, showered bed.... dam that bike is light....next ride soon.....
on the new bike, stem 8* higher than it should have been....rides nice though...can't wait to race it!
