rmr, mess...

today was a day of getting a bunch done.....i got just about all of the electrical ran and all the insulation that i could up.........so good stuff today....

so the usual tuesday evening ride to rmr, with the exception that i flatted just before we hit redwood road.... 2 old friends stopped to lend a hand, thanks a bunch rob and jeff...so good to see you both.... after we dinked around with my tube, tire, wheel issues we got back underway....and not trying to sound like an arrogant dick but i kind of dropped the hammer and left them both behind, but that was ok as jeff wasn't racing and rob was racing with the c group... so anyway, hit the parking lot grab the first guy i see with a floor pump and go to town getting the un-seated bead prob handled.... have just enough time to ride over to reg, then chat with the mates to figure a game plan.....before we go to the start line to stand around for 10+min while the course gets changed from the inside to the outside (there was a forklift in the way so on the straight we went around the outside)....you'd think it wouldn't take too much time to move 2 cars and lay down a start/finish line again...but whatever.....we still got to race for 45min.

first lap: neutral......and it was so that was nice...... attack just as we came over the start line...got the pace going so that was good.... a dozen or more breaks tried to get away but nothing was sticking.... i was in one that had potential but just couldn't get organized....think it is because of the level of some of the racers and not wanting to push hard to stay and not knowing how to ride in a rotating pace line so we can save our strength......whatever we got caught.. i tried a couple more times with carl and some others but nothing came of it....seemed like when we went everyone did their damnedest to go with us....even some of my mates so that's never a good thing....SIT IN AND BLOCK, i do it for you....anyway the A's came by us just as we got 3 to go....so we went neutral to let them get away, what a mess......... i was sitting strong in the top 8 holding position to go with the sprint, then we caught the A's on our last lap on the 180 turn into the straight.......arrrrrrg....... people were everywhere and by the time i got around the turn i was 15-20 back.....shit......i tried to make the best of it and went with whatever was in front of me...too bad the 3 different groups i sat on all pooped out quick and i was alone in the wind....i stuck it out for 13th i think....ANGER..........better do dmv tomorrow to take care of that little prob........

pedaled home solo the whole way....i don't get why people want to hang out and chat for 30min after our race ends...i wanna cool down, get home, get recovery juice in me and start relaxing....oh well, i pushed it hard on the way home...felt good....
